Release 12.5-12.6 – January-February 2025

Welcome to the latest LearningBuilder releases — the first of 2025! LearningBuilder 12.5 and 12.6 bring updates to our Merge Account Feature and the ability to update multiple Attributes (or fields) at a time.

Feature Enhancements:

  • Sometimes, program administrators need to be able to merge two user accounts together so that both sets of applications, activities, communications, and more are all combined into a single record. With this latest release, we’ve expanded the functionality and use cases of our Merge Accounts feature, removing some of the blockers that, in the past, made account merges more complicated.

Configuration Improvements:

  • In LearningBuilder, a Workflow defines a multi-step process to collect and modify data. Thus, many steps in a given Workflow involve updating Attribute (or field) values. Previously, this required configuring multiple “Update Attribute” type Behaviors—one for each update. Each Behavior had to be processed independently, which reduced performance and made the configuration harder to implement and maintain. Now, for easier and more streamlined configuration, all “Update Attribute” type Behaviors now support updating multiple Attributes at one time. For the configurators among us, these Behaviors include:
    • Update Workflow Instance Attribute
    • Update Member Role Attribute
    • Update Member Role Attribute for Learning Plan
    • Update Member Role Attribute for Activity Instance

Usability Improvements:

  • Competency Requirement Models are integral to LearningBuilder’s Reflective Practice Exercise (RPE) feature providing a hierarchical means of organizing competencies or learning domains. Now, we’ve added the ability for admins to delete unused RPE Competency Requirement Models (or “Position Profiles”) so that they can be removed if abandoned or created in error. We’ve also added a filter feature to the Competency Requirement Model so admins may automatically “hide” models marked inactive. They can be referenced historically, but will no longer appear in the UI.

Performance Improvements:

  • Certain custom reports will now perform significantly better— a.k.a., faster. The total degree of change will vary between implementations, but will be most noticeable for those with either:
    • Large databases with a high number of field values
    • Reporting views with a large number of columns

Cosmetic:

  • Recent browser updates affected our CSS grid layout as well as spacing between icons and buttons throughout the system. We’ve resolved these issues for an improved user experience.
