Release 12.4 – October 2024

Welcome to LearningBuilder version 12.4! If you’ve been counting along, LearningBuilder version 12.3 was an internal-only release. This latest LearningBuilder version includes some exciting updates to LearningBuilder Integrations, Large File Uploads, end-user File Libraries, and more!

Feature Enhancements:

  • Recently, we wrote a little about how we work to make the integration process easier. This latest release showcases some fruits of that effort: By removing existing workarounds in the configuration process, we’ve streamlined our “Call External API” integrations, which request data from a third party system and then update various data fields within LearningBuilder. This improvement makes it easier to configure integrations for exam eligibility, CE management, and more.

Configuration Improvements:

  • It’s now faster and easier to configure program rules with complex parameters like multiple variables, conditions, and comparisons! We’ve made our improved Comparison Rule Editor available in more high-use locations within both Learning Plan Definitions and Workflows.

Usability Improvements:

  • There may be times when your system participants need to upload files outside of a specific workflow process. Now, they can upload those files directly into a File Library and select them for use later — without the need for configuration workarounds.
  • Additionally, their File Library will now display files uploaded using the S3 Upload and Video Attribute features. End users can view and manage all of their uploaded files (regardless of how they were uploaded).

Integrations:

  • By now, you’ve likely heard of the Learning Hub: our new cloud-based database that supercharges data exchange. Event Subscriptions are the templates that convert data published to the Learning Hub (at your system’s request,) formatting it for import into LearningBuilder. Now, these templates are configurable through the LearningBuilder UI! This means our advanced client administrators can manage more Learning Hub integration work without engaging the Heuristics team. In addition, the Heuristics Support team can now manage these template configuration requests without escalation, which should lead to improved ticket turnaround times.

Cosmetic:

  • In the Responsible Party Area of LearningBuilder, we’ve updated the “remove” button to be consistent with the rest of the system. It now displays as a “trash can” icon rather than an orange action button.
  • Speaking of orange action buttons, we noticed that when using the manual data entry form, the orange action buttons weren’t quite scaling when a user shortened the form window horizontally. So, we fixed it.
